WILD WEDNESDAY END FOR THE SUMMER 2008

IT WAS THE FINAL WILD WEDNESDAY OF THE SUMMER SEASON.

MEMBERS OF THE COUNCIL OF ELDERS AND THE TRIBAL COUNCIL WERE EATING AT THE FIREMAN'S COOK OFF. PEOPLE WERE GETTING FREE BOTTLED WATER AND POPCORN. THERE WAS THE REGULAR FARE OF ONE DOLLAR ($1.00) FOOD ITEMS. THE FARMER'S MARKET WAS IN FULL SWING. THE BAND AND THE DJ WERE DOING THEIR THINGS. AT THE CAR SHOW, THE CARS WERE SHINNY AND CLEAN. EVERYONE WAS HAVING A GOOD OLE' TIME. FINALLY THE FIREWORKS WENT OFF AND THE SEASON OF WILD WEDNESDAYS ENDED FOR THIS YEAR.

WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE? WE (MOHEGAN TRIBE) WENT THE WHOLE SEASON WITHOUT MOHEGAN DANCERS ON THE ROOF TOP. THE MOHEGAN GOVERNMENT REALLY BLEW IT. SOMETHING THAT IS VERY GOOD FOR THE TRIBE NEVER HAPPENED. WAS IT BECAUSE ONE PERSON WHO RAN IT IS NOT REPLACEABLE? IS IT THE GOVERNMENT DID NOT CARE? COULD IT BE THAT WHAT MOHEGANS WANT DOESN"T COUNT?

SHAME ON THE COUNCIL OF ELDERS AND THE TRIBAL COUNCIL FOR ALLOWING THIS TO HAPPEN.

WE HOPE THAT NEXT YEAR, IF THE MOHEGAN PEOPLE WANT THE NATIVE DANCING ON THE ROOF,- THAT THE MOHEGAN TRIBAL COUNCIL AND THE COUNCIL OF ELDERS WILL MAKE IT HAPPEN. THE MOHEGAN TRIBE DESERVE BETTER.
