MOHEGAN "EARTH DAY"

AWHILE BACK, I CAME UP WITH AN IDEA THAT I PRESENTED TO THE TRIBAL COUNCIL AT A WEDNESDAY MORNING COFFEE HOUR.

HOW ABOUT WE HAVE OUR OWN EARTH DAY? WE COULD MEET AT SHANTOK AND WALK THE WOODS ON BOTH SIDES OF SHANTOK ROAD AND PICK UP BOTTLES, CANS, LITTER AND REFUSE OFF THE BEATEN PATH (IN THE WOODS WHERE PEOPLE DO NOT USUALLY GO.)

AFTERWARD WE COULD HAVE A BBQ, PICNIC, CLAM BAKE, OR SOMETHING. EVERYTIME MOHEGANS MEET WE ALWAYS HAVE FOOD, IT IS THE MOHEGAN WAY.

IT WOULD GIVE THE TRIBE SOME FUN TIME AND HELP UNIFY THE TRIBE. IT WOULD ALSO HELP US TO GET TO KNOW EACH OTHER BETTER AND BE A BONDING OF OUR MEMBERS.

WE FEEL THE PUBLIC WORKS WORKERS DO A TERRIFIC JOB OF KEEPING SHANTOK WELL GROOMED AND CARED FOR. IN FACT, WE THINK THAT PUBLIC WORKS DID A GREAT JOB, DURING CULTURAL WEEK AND THE WIGWAM.

HOW ABOUT IT TRIBAL COUNCIL? TRIBAL MEMBERS WHAT DO YOU THINK? HOW ABOUT A MOHEGAN "EARTH DAY?"
