THIS COMING SUNDAY AUGUST 10, 2008 IS OUR HOME COMING AT FORT SHANTOK IN UNCASVILLE, CONNECTICUT.
THE NAMING CEREMONY WHEN MOHEGANS TAKE THEIR NATIVE NAMES TAKES PLACE AT ELEVEN AM.
WE (THE MOHEGAN TRIBE) SHOULD TRY TO ATTEND. THIS IS A VERY IMPORTANT EVENT IN THE LIVES OF THE MOHEGANS WHO ARE GETTING THEIR NAMES AND FOR US TO SHOW OUR SUPPORT AND LOVE FOR THEM BY BEING THERE AND WITNESSING IT WITH THEM.
MAYBE WE SHOULD ALL BE CALLING EACH OTHER BY OUR MOHEGAN NAMES. FOR EXAMPLE WHO CALLS LAWERANCE SHULTZ--LARRY OR LAWERANCE DO WE? NO WE DO NOT. WE CALL HIM RED MOON. WE CALL BRUCE "TWO DOGS" BUZSUM TWO DOGS. WE HAVE SOME GREAT NAMES IN THE TRIBE LIKE MORNING STAR, EVENING STAR, RED FEATHER, UNCAS, WINGED HEART, SUNFLOWER,TWO BEARS, WOLF WHO WALKS SLOWLY JUST TO NAME A FEW. AGAIN MAYBE WE SHOULD START USING OUR TRIBAL NAMES.
IT IS ALWAYS A GREAT TIME. THE FOOD IS ALWAYS GOOD TASTING AND PLENTIFUL. THE COMPANY AND CONVERSATION IS STIMULATING. SEEING THE CHILDREN RUNNING AND PLAYING IS TERRIFIC.
COME AND JOIN US. AGAIN SUNDAY AUGUST 10, 2008. SEE YOU THERE.
