MOHEGAN SUN AT POCONO DOWNS FINED FOR UNDERAGE GAMBLERS

Mohegan Sun fined $97K for underage cases

INQUIRER STAFF

The operators of Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs have been fined $97,500 for 15 separate cases of underage gambling and underage access to the gaming floor, the state has announced.
The fines, levied on Friday by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board under two consent agreements, were for acts that occurred between August 2008 and March 2009.

People under 21 are not allowed to gamble, and those under 18 may not even be on the gaming floor of a licensed facility.

In some cases, those who were underage at the Wyomissing casino entered the floor near an unmanned security post.

And in two separate cases, two 15-year-olds were accompanied by their mothers.

EDITORIAL FOOTNOTE: Who is minding the casino? How does this happen? Maybe some people in management should be let go. Who paid the fines, the casino or the management? Not a good thing. What do you think?

Wyomissing?? Who's publishing these articles? Who's the editor?

Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs is NOT located in Wyomissing, PA. It is located in Wilkes-Barre, PA. There ARE no casinos in Wyomissing. Feel the need to comment? First, get your fact straight, and second -- how about punishing the underagers who enter the floor when signs are posted everywhere that you have to be 21?
