ON FRIDAY OCTOBER 17, 2008, TWO MEN WERE ARRESTED ON WARRANTS FOR ALLEGEDLY STEALING ABOUT TWENTY THOUSAND DOLLARS ($20,000.00) WORTH OF WIRE AND CABLE FROM THE MOHEGAN SUN COUNTRY CLUB AT PAUTIPAUG.
ARRESTED WAS ROBERT E. KUNKEL, 23, OF 133 MATHEWSON STREET, JEWETT CITY, AND ROBERT D. FONTAINE, 25, OF 86 BATES ROAD, CANTERBURY.
IT WAS REPORTED THAT KUNKEL WAS STOPPED IN HIS CAR FRIDAY EVENING IN JEWETT CITY. IT IS ALLEGED WHEN HE WAS STOPPED, THAT THERE WERE NUMEROUS BAGS OF HEROIN FOUND. HE WAS CHARGED WITH DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL OR DRUGS AND POSSESSION OF NARCOTICS.
FONTAINE WAS ARRESTED ON A WARRANT AT HIS HOME ON FRIDAY.
BOTH MEN ARE BEING HELD ON $150,000. 00 CASH BONDS AT THE CORRIGAN-RADGOWSKI CORRECTIONAL CENTER IN UNCASVILLE, CONNECTICUT.
