Mohegan Tribal Council
Mohegan Council of Elders

Dear Mr. Cahill,

On Wednesday, November 26, 2008, Phil Cahill and the Editor of Brokenwing Editorials discussed meeting after the next Open Session of the Tribal Council, to discuss the Ford Escape Hybrid suv's that the Mohegan Tribe owns.

The Editor of Brokenwing Editorials asked if we could get information on some other things, including the loans that have been given out to tribal members.

One loan, we specifically wished to see, was the one for fifty thousand dollars ($50,000.00). Phil Cahill supposedly said because it was a personal loan and that the tribal member is paying interest, he therefore would not give Brokenwing Editorials the information. This is the same loan that there was an Ethics Investigation of the Tribal Chairman at the time and a department head (who received the loan) in the Mohegan government.

Since Brokenwing Editorials believes in open government, and when a government (not a business) gives out loans to anyone (tribal member or not) that information is positively, absolutely public information, that should be given out when requested. Therefore, Brokenwing Editorials will not meet with Phil Cahill on Wednesday, December 3, 2008, after the Mohegan Tribal Council Open Session.

As far as the articles on the Ford Escape Hybrids, I believe Brokenwing Editorials was accurate based on my sources and the news media, including Ford Motor Company.

Yours truly,

Brokenwing
